I have an american/american cross steer and at my particular county fair an american/american cross steer will compete against an american/exotic cross which can be a tough battle, is there any tips on feeding an american/american steer to get it to compete better with an exotic influenced steer?

first off what is the 2 crosses in your "american/american" if its a heavy heavy brahman influence just hope your judge likes sound, if it is a beefmaster or gert you can compete as long as the calf has some width, the rear end is the killer when you go against half blood exotics, you as a showman can show it out by setting the feet super wide. besides that get em fat and let the judge tell you
