I'm Looking for American Royal Advice - Going for the first time

I am assuming many on this site have gone to the American Royale Livestock show. My daughter and I will be heading up there for the Junior and Open Charolais heifer show. Since this is the first time we have ever gone to this show, I would like some helpful advice to ensure we are prepared for the show. Please give me advice on best time to arrive (such as its best to arrive at the earliest time possible, middle of the night, or latest time possible), what to bring to ensure we have enough power for our stuff, bedding for stalls and tie outs, what not to bring due to lack of space, etc... Any advice given will be greatly appreciated.
