Indusing a cow?

We have a cow that is 7 days over due, should we induse her or not?  She is carrying a heatwave, just don't want this calve to be too big for her to deliver..

yes call the vet and give her the drugs.  takes 12hr to 3 days.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate and ask if you're absolutely positive she is bred to HW on the date you think she is

I wont let a HW go over. I have never had small one's. My vet suggest 10cc dexamethasome and 5 cc lut follow with Oxytocin if you think the milk is not completely down. The last one I induced two days before her date was 100#'s and used a calf jack cuz she was a block. We knew for sure there was no bull coverage on this one.

Just to leave everyone know our cow had her calve last night on her own with out any problems.  My husband sorta likes to have nature take it's course, it worked this time.  Nice heatwave bull calf 100lbs.
