I can make just about any animal have shag but when it comes down to ears I can never make them keep hair. Nothing bothers me more than seeing a super shaggy calf with bald ears in the show ring

Any tips on keeping hairy ears?

You're right.  Nothing sets off a show calf more than hairy ears.  I wonder why the barber keeps trimming mine.

What I have seen is calves that don't have much hair on their ears are the ones that may have good winter hair but be just really tough haired once they shed out in the spring.  Think about full blood Charolais.  They may have pretty solid hair in the winter, but rarely have the big fuzzy ears.  Now what kind of summer hair do they have?

So when you say you can get anything shaggy, are you talking about July shaggy, or are you talking about Decembe shaggy?
