My daughter is showing a Shorthorn steer which she has worked extremely hard with. She rinses at least twice a day and walks every day but he appears to be very lazy when she walks him. I am not sure if this is the right term to use as he does not fight the rope but he just doesnt seem to have the energy like some animals do. My husband and I like to say that he looks like a "dopey". He is a late Feb 2013 so he is one of the older steers but he actually covers his tracks pretty well just doesnt seem perky like some other calves. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
