Try your local shelter or vet clinic. Both places have them from time to time very nice dogs that have just had a bump in the road of life for them. They often are much better dogs in the end and the cost is much lesser. We have bought dogs in the past but have found giving a shelter dog a chance is the only way to go. PLUS, if it don't work out it don't hurt that much to shoot it.
