I know this has probably been covered in the past, but with slow internet it is hard to do a detailed search.  We are looking for something to entertain the cloverbuds with.  We want it to be educational and mostly cattle related.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

A few years ago at the county heifer show, we let those who were old enough to handle a calf with help take a very tame calf in for a showmanship class right before the show began. A parent "judged", everyone got a ribbon, and everyone was accompanied by an adult. We  let some older siblings "show" in this class to boost numbers. The little ones were so proud to be in the ring with their big sister or brother. We just have a handful though, might not work with larger numbers. It is good to think of the younger ones though; a lot of times they are really interested and feel a bit left out.

That is a great idea and I know it works!!!  That is how my girls got there first showing experience.  What about at a 4-H meeting setting?  Does any one have ideas to keep youg kids entertained while the meeting is going on?  Thanks Again

If it's something you want then to sit still for and listen to, then give them all a white board with an expo marker to "take notes".  You can get a bunch cut from the white board used on bathroom walls (can't think of the name right now).  Most large supply stores will cut them for free.  You can get 20-25 from one sheet.  Younger kids are fascinated by writing and erasing on the white board.  If you're just looking to "entertain them" while you talk to another group...games, games, and more games.  Be sure to change activities every 20 minutes or so.  Not sure of the numbers you're dealing with, but advise you to split them into small groups with an adult or young adult assigned to each group to prevent big problems.
