I live in eastern Iowa and know the Otto family well and they bought MAB as a baby from Greg Bernhard and sold 50% semen rights to Wade Rodgers with no possession. Then the Otto's cloned  MAB and Lautner Farms bought part of the clones from the Otto's.  So I don't thinks Rodgers had any part of the cloning part of MAB cause on the banner on Lautner's blog is Otto Show Cattle and Lautner Farms.

Heard Otto sold the cloning rights. Also heard that Wade is not very happy about it and that's why he bought the "Even Better" bull with Trausch.

Gregory Luke Bernhard was born March 5, 1964, in Estherville, son of William and Marilyn (Kliegl) Bernhard. He grew up in Bancroft graduating from St. John's Catholic High School in 1982.

Greg had a special love for his family, his faith, playing golf, and his passion was show cattle. In earlier years he worked at Brooks Golf Course in Okoboji and then maintained the grounds at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend. He proudly helped Fr. Grieving finish the construction of the Sacred Heart of Jesus grotto in the West Bend Grotto of Redemption.

Greg worked as parts manager at J.B. Mertz and Sons Implement in West Bend for nearly 20 years. At the same time he also operated Bernhard Cattle Company raising show cattle. Greg was especially proud of his club calf bull that he raised, "Man Among Boys".
Greg grew up in St. John's Catholic Parish in Bancroft and was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend where he served on the church council. Greg Bernhard died Monday, October 14, 2013 at the age of 49.

The Rau's from South Dakota own full possession of MAB and Brad Otto has the semen rights  then sold 1/2 to Rodgers, Brad and Todd purchased the bull together as a calf.
