Ok I have heard that this supplement that is on the local walmart shelf can help hair growth and calm a steer down. Has anybody tried it? If so were the results worth it. Does it encourage hair growth or just keep what they have? How much do you use on cattle? I was just wondering about this! <cowboy>Also how about Biotin? Ive always heard its the fix for nice health long hair...is this true in cattle?

I have used melatonin to calm a steer and it worked great.  It really take the edge off and make them manageable.  Will us it in the future before every show!!

It will take the edge off of one, and if you have the 3 mg tablets i would feed about 30 tablets starting 2 days before you go to the show and hit him with about 40 tablets the morning you are going to show.
As far as hair, if the hair is in the genetics, you keep them out of the sun light, rinse and work the hair at least daily or more, it helps, if you just give them the Melatonin and do not do the rest, it will not.
