There were very few no sales at this sale and most of consignors I talked with were happy with what things brought. The person in charge (president of the board) was not asked to floor the bull, but was just told that if he didn't bring enough you should not have to pay full commission. This sale is not run by a single person, but rather a board of directors. If the bull needs protection it should be the responsibility of the consignor to talk with a ringman, auctioneer, or someone in the crowd not the person trying to keep the sale going. I saw your bull and ran the epds on him before the sale (which were not correct , yearling weight went from 74 to 47.9) and while being a nice bull he was not not big enough for his age to work into my program as my cows are bigger and he would have a hard time servicing them. Edps all changed in the breed in December, so I believe that was an honest mistake as you proably took the numbers from your registration papers and not online. Speaking as another consignor I believe this sale is run very well and most things brought what they would at any other sale I have been to. All the sale representatives thought they had a good sale also. The Wisconsin Simmental Association seem to do a very good job running the sale at a reasonable commission rate as everything is run by their board and volunteer labor. They run the sale, but cannot set the price altough they had a very big crowd on hand animals only bring what bring what people will bid.
