now that the great thaw has occurred and the spring rains have started what does everybody do in their turnout to keep the calves from looking like feedlot calves every morning?

I dont know how big your turnout is but we lay down corn stock bales.  They are much cleaner than straw.  We actually have are young heifers due to calf any day bedded down with cornstalk and byno means do they look anything like our dirty feedlot calves and we are in West Central, MN and just had 10 inches of snow yesterday and they are dry.  Good luck!!
