Where is all of the hair and photo shopping? Why are these people so backwards? ;) I am very happy my ancestors landed in America, but we spend tens of thousands of dollars on 3 month old hairballs. The rest of the world seems to value how they function as breeding cattle...The concept of buying a bull with two calf crops on the ground is refreshing... (thumbsup)

Off my soapbox..., for now... (clapping)

Lot 3 reminds me of an old Byland bull, seems like Hawk or Explorer was his hame.  Lot 23 reminds me of Super Dazzler.  Looks like an interesting set of bulls.  I wonder how sound that deep, thick lot 95 is on his rear legs.  Hard to tell from a picture.

Here's a video of lot 95
Kilkee Rising Sun F02 (P) AI

good think they're all not hog fat like this one-- really obvious in the video-- as opposed to his picture

Spoke to the owner of lot 89 today and passed on the favourable comments... he reckons the bull would look real good in North America  ;)

Why do people spend millions on race horses? Those hairballs are just for fun.

I agree, 95 is nice to look at but way to over-conditioned for me.

What about Lot 3?  I have always been wary of a bull with white socks but the oldtimers say they have good milking progeny!  Can't fault the 'hammy' looking hindquarter either, can you?

I like lot 3 too, looks to be a very complete, COMMERCIALLY FOCUSED sire.... and I'm usually one of the first to pull the knife out when I see white socks!  ;)

Judging kicks off in the morning, followed by the elite female sale. If there are any lots that people would like to know data for (fat, EMA, frame, scrotal etc) please let me know.

This is the one i picked out as well.  His condition looks heavy, but I was surprised by the comment about his grass test results.  If he's putting that weight on in the pasture I like him even better.

I just got done doing our conservation compliance spot checks at work-- and it never amazes me at the number of people who claim to no-till.  Ask them if they no-till- they say ya-- but they ran a field cultivator over it first, then they no-tilled it.

I wonder if some grassfed people are the same?

He looks like a hell of a bull to me. Bigger bw epd but on mature cows? How tall is he I wonder? He looks like he would work to make some good feeders

That bull weighed in at 1030kg, with a 141 sqaure centimetre EMA, 24mm and 13mm of fat on the rump and rib and a frame score of 7. Testicles are 42cm.
