I got my first calf of the year on January 21.
Despite a dry, warm and well-bedded stall in my bar,
the little girl was born outside on the ice and
almost succumbed to hypothermia.

Thanks to some friends and family, we were able
to warm her up and return her to her momma.

Baby is nursing on her own and thriving.
We will call this little girl 'Darling'

We thought she was might pretty too and wanted to share.

We have high hopes for her, her sister was reserve national champ last year.

Yup, looks like Idaho, or possibly a baseball mitt.

We have a cow with a similar marking on the right side.
Her breeder thought it looked like someone thumbing a ride so they called her Hitchhiker.
