I have shown pigs for four years and i have recently became a owner of a Santa Gertrudis heifer the person who had shown her won a few classes and showmanship. The day we brought her here she was very well behaved. The next day when I went to bring her into her stall she wouldn't move I pulled her tail and that worked but I would like to know how I can get her to move without me tugging on her tail.Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Or just try to push her to take a step, if that doesn't work twist her tail a little and let off the halter (do not break her tail) when she steps so she associates stepping with pressure releasing off her head

Some will say drag her or beat on her or this or that- don't do that because you'll ruin a gentle heifer that's been worked with and never get that progress back.

It's great that you took the time to ask before going to extremes. Be patient and keep trying, and get someone out there to help you convince her to step up
