Hi from Richville, MN (near Perham and Detroit Lakes if you dont know where it is at.) I was also at MN Beef Expo and placed in the top six with my Sun Seeker summer yearling. The judge said at the time I was in the ring that it was the best class he had judged all day at that time. He said he could have placed any of the top 8 animals on top. I was pretty happy since my animal had only been weaned two weeks prior to that and I was able to break here to lead two days after weaning. I was in ring two. I had a chrome looking heifer if you were able to see it. We were near the back of the barn. I am kind of new to showing and have only been showing a couple of years and am learning a lot about grooming and showing. I actually wish we could get a Kirk Stierwalt Clinic closer to home. I am also planning on taking my heifer to the North Star Classic in December and my sister who is a year older than me will be showing a Texas Hold Em Prospect Steer. My little sister who will be six years old on show day will be showing a smaller Angus. I am a little embarrased because she is not very good but it is out of our own Angus herd, is pretty gentle, and just about the right size for her. Oh, by the way appears to be a nice heifer (for a shorthorn). Just kidding just have never been much into the shorthorns but they are sure attractive in the show ring.
