Our first major at Houston went just as we expected with my son being sent back to the barn but we learned a lot. I mean A LOT. The most startling was the blatant disregard for the "rules" of the show. We will be more prepared for that the next time. It wasn't as bad as it could have been. My husband had an old friend there that is not showing until tomorrow that helped us out a bunch and we were able to muddle thru. We caught the bug. Already making plans for 2015 show.

. We sweated bullets over that rule book worried that if we breathed wrong, our son would be sent home but it was much more laid back than we realized it would be. When we went to get our calf released not one single person checked our paperwork. We loaded him on the trailer, drove off and the gate attendant took the hang tag. That was it. Not one single person checked what we were doing. Anybody could have left with our calf.
