The picture of this calf reminds me of a cousins steer from back in the latter part of the 70's. He was that ugly mousey grey and white spotted, but had a perfect baldie face. He happened to be pretty good but suffered severe color issues! We kept him hid out and he showed up at a tough Oklahoma county as a black baldie and was reserve grand coming out of the crosses. On to OKC where he was standing right at the top of his class when they turned on the "bright " lights getting ready for the sale. Suddenly we had a purple baldie! Judge said over the mike he give 100.00 dollars to anyone who could guess the calf's real color. Calf still made the sale, we got embarrassed and can still laugh about showing a purple steer.
