I am working on a show heifer ration and am looking at using surechamp for a mineral and i see that it contains 6.7 ppm of selenium which on my ration software produced a warning for having too much selenium when combined with the other feedstuffs. from what i know cattle can only tolerate 2ppm of selenium and in the total ration (which other than surechamp contains very little selenium) i am ending up with 4.33 ppm. why would surechamp have such a high amount of selenium if at that level it can be toxic?
