I've got a real nice steer that has a shorter tail.  I think its naturally a little short then the hair on its just not really growing.  Anyone have any tips, tricks or info about it?

My son's steer this year had an extremely short switch.  We started putting people hair conditioner on him daily, or as often as possible, leave it sit for a while ( 15 mins. or more) and then rinse.  It has really helped put a few inches on the switch, so hopefully it won't be so noticeable.

Try mtg for horses they have it at tractor supply farm n home etc. It works great for hair growth on the horses so it oughtta put a good switch on there which will help hide it. Shapleys MTG it comes in quart bottles
