Does anybody know the formula for getting a mature cow weight estimate based off of steer hot carcass weights?

You should be able to take the hot carcass weight and divide it by about 63% (plus or minus based on how wasty or not wasty it was)...833/.63=1322#. I'm not sure what the price difference between choice and select right now, but a couple months ago it was only $5-6 I think therefore, yes, weight would pay out more if there wasn't much value difference. Also, there typically isn't a price difference for high choice versus low choice...as far as I've ever known.
