I have noticed in a lot of pictures of donors, there back slopes up towards thier neck? Is this a trait to look for in heifers, a coincidence, or just comes with being a mature cow? I put a few picture examples.

If you'll notice, their front feet are on a small mound or facing up a slope.  This keeps their top straight and not low behind the shoulder, not that they really are, but if facing downhill, they would fall apart.  Same theory as stalled show cattle or the Denver bulls always have front feet on higher plane.

The ones that are pictured are standing on mounds. But a heifer or cow that is more elevated through their front end is a desirable trait.

When a person or judge talks about angularity, this is what is being referred to. Get a dairy book such as Hoardsman's Dairy and look at the pictures of the cows featured. They will be more pronounced than the ones that you have pictured, but they also stand them uphill.

This is how all dairy females are pictured. As stated above makes them look more 'angular'.
