All the Smilin Bob's I have seen have been really really nice with a lot of substance to them...from what I have seen of the Walks Alone calves and cows they are out of, if the cow has some structure issue you may be in trouble, but if the cow is sound you should be ok.  I dont have any of either, just saying what I have seen.

The calfs we have had out of walks alone are as sound as they come, they covered their tracks while walking. Our walks alone steers were very muscular and thick but were still very sound.

I've got a smiling Bob calf out of our ft worth, San Antonio, and Houston calf champion couple years ago and the cow is a tank and I'm extremely. Dissapointed!  Calf looks like he's part race horse all legs no depth but he is sound. I started this post because we have close to 20 more due to him and 20 to walks alone.  Also have a walks alone bull calf and he is super stout but straight off the rear and bucked over on the fronts and his mom is super sound and has great flex.  I hoping both are just freak deals!

jones show steers give them bob calves time they have all came out leggy and within 30 to 45 days they will be some of the best ones that you have.  That is what we have been told by all of the people that have bred to him.
