The Show said:EQ Solution. It's expensive at $20/gallon, but it's worth every single dollar. It's made for horses, but its starting to catch on with show cattle people. You need a foamer to use it. You spray it on the calf dry. Yes, DO NOT rinse the calf before soaping it. Soap, scrub, rinse, then soap again and let it dry. Yes, you let the soap dry on them. I honestly couldn't believe it until I tried it. Your calves will have unbelievably healthy hair like never before. Dish soap is the worst thing you can use. It dries the hair and skin out plus has all kinds of chemicals that aren't healthy for their hair. The most important part is leaving it on them and letting it completely dry before you start working their hair. It will also make their hair shine unlike anything else. I couldn't believe it until I tried it, and I'll never use anything else again. I would encourage everyone to try it at least once.
