OK Here is a challenge for each of you!  This is in honor of our Dear Friend "Red".  I've been thinking about this quiet a bit lately on how to honor her memory.  Times are tough, and $ is hard to come by soooooo here is what I am challenging each and everyone of you to do in the month of March (thumbsup)

Everyone (just about) that new Red was influenced by her one way or another.  She was always the first to offer a kind ear, a lending hand, or just some advice.  I challenge each and every one of the SteerPlanet family to do just this!  I challenge you to "help another person" one way or another this month.  I don't care if its taking the elderly neighbor a plate of cookies or a pie (that one is for Brad Hook lol), mentoring a child or 4-H member, or offering a person a lift.  Just do a kind gesture from your heart and expect nothing in return for it.  Use your imagination!

Share with us what you've done if you like!  I think instead of my being sad on the day of her death, I'm going to celebrate her life by trying to touch someone elses.  Here's the challenge SteerPlanet family, let's put a little "Red" in our hearts and make a difference in our community/world just as my best friend tried to do everyday on this board. (clapping) (clapping)

I dearly miss my friend, and not a day goes by that I don't miss her messages and voice.  I really want to make this an annual "March" thing, and memorialize "RED".  I also think we should all wear red on the day Jason turns the planet red for Cathy!

Thanks!

Gidget,
I just started coming to this site shortly before Red's passing, and I had a lot of respect for her.  I have a sign in my office that says.

INTEGRITY      Integrity is doing the right thing, even if nobody is watching.

I think that sign say alot about RED

Exactly right Mitch!  Red sometimes made a couple people mad but she always tried to do what was right in her heart

March is National Bake and Take month. It somewhat mirrors your suggestion. We do it in Oklahoma to promote the use of whole grains and to bring people together. Simply bake something and give to someone. As easy as that- a new mother, fire fighters, teachers, elderly, so on so forth.

If you do this, post your recipes on here. Might be easier for some of us to get started baking if we have a tried and true recipe. Who knows- we could get enough to make a cookbook to sell in memory of Red?!

Anyone else taking the challenge?  I've already delivered Kiwi Lime dessert cups to a couple just "because".  I've got some bigger ideas though!

I Corinthians 13:2  "If I had the power to move a mountain and didn't Love my neighbor, what good would it do me?"
