The well has run dry

Got home tonight to thirsty cattle and no water in the house.  Got the neighbor who digs wells over and he says we need to add another 100 feet of pipe or so.  We had an irrigation well that we knew was getting touchy but this was a little more startling to discover.
We are in one of the less dry areas of the country, so I really feel for you guys who are suffering worse than we are.

Wonder if mine is getting low too. Poured a glass of water and there was quite a bit of sand in it. Never been like that before.

  Sand will ruin your pump.

We have a sand point well. Very sandy where we live.
