Tying in Cool Room??

What does everyone do? We keep our calves tied in our cool room so they don't mess with the fans and it also seems to calm them down a lot faster and easier.  It also limits where the manure goes so we don't have to clean as much bedding.  What other things does everyone do?

We do the same with ours. Tied standing for a hour or so in the AM then tied down then up for an hour or so before we turn out. I used to work for a place that had pens in the cooler. Like you said you have to clean alot more bedding. We ended up just leaving them tied in the pens, it also helps to keep the fans blowing the hair in the right direction.

I also would tie. Had a heifer one year that given the chance would stand with her head in the fan she loved it but it wouldnt do good things to the rest of her hair.
