I got this shorthorn steer that does not walk with the halter. When he finally moves he charges me and drops his head. I have been working with him everyday hoping something will change. I am running out of tricks to try looking for some advice. (trying to avoid the tractor method) He is starting to know that he has more power than me also I think.

Put a nose ring in him. He will go where you want & stop when you needed.
We have one that realized how big he is & thought he'd do what he wants. No he stops in his tracks.

I agree also with the nose ring....you can buy snap in nose rings and a lead in Sullivan's catalog or online.
nose rings will bring even the most obnoxious animals to submission.

I would try the tractor method before the nose ring. Unless he has you on the ground when you put the halter on him then don't use a ring. I would tie him to an rzr or rangre (any utv works) and try it that way first
