When to start feeding Natural Stride?

I have a 870 lb steer that I want to feed Natural Stride to but I have never used it before. When do you suggest starting them on it and how much do they get fed? This steer will be shown at some jackpots in the spring but we're mostly focused on our county fair the last week of July. Any feed back would be great! Thanks.
