Of the ones you listed i would have to say Choppin Wood but I believe there are many way and I mean way better choices for slick shearing ones in texas. If she has enough forerib milkman, if she is just an overall good one and needs power alias is hard to beat, I have seen some pretty good crowd favorites popping up and then you cannot ignore solid golds track record just make sure she has plenty of belly for solid gold. Thats just some colored bulls there are literally dozens of bulls you could go with but anything eye candy or yellowjacket bred i would stay away from for steers.
Hey DCC, can you answer some questions on those crowd favorites. I was thinking about breeding a lot to him next year. Does his calves have any size? whats he working on and do you have any pics of those calves? Thank You!---- for the post, I have a smokin good Alias x Simmy (direct hit x meyer) that I sold for a pretty good price the other day. What I can tell you from using Alias, make sure the cow is deep and extra sound. I would suggest alias, solid gold, milkman, or TT. Check out Diamond M cattle in Alabama, they had some really good TT and solid gold calves. As far as TT goes, I bought an ALI herd bull from Bill Elliott 2 years ago and he has thrown me better calves than some of my Bodacious and Monopoly calves and I paid $1500 for him. So you can only Imagine the quality of Smoke a lil Smoke or Texas Twister. Also from a mature standpoint, Texas Twister had one of the most impressive mature pics I have seen. Choppin Wood could throw you a pudd in a hurry. JMO
