Not sure how much looking it up will help as the format was changed this year. The low percentage steers- ie shorthorn plus, low % Charolais,- will show in the same classes as their high percentage or purebred counterparts. This will make the AOB class which the % percentage steers used to show in pretty small. If there even is one, it will likely only have the random Limi, Salers, or other unclubby bred steers. The last few years, most breeds  had between 10 and 15 head in one or two weight divisions.  AOB usually had less than 10 total and crossbred had several large weight classes. Again, not sure how much, if at all this will affect numbers and class size. As for showmanship, if is divided by age as of the 1st of the year. For example, if you turned 15 in November of last year, you will end up showing against all 15 year-olds participating, regardless if you show a heifer or steer (there is no separate class for steer exhibitors. There are often dozens of kids in each age group, so they will run the class in flights. The judge will observe the first 10 or 12, and pick 3 or 4 of the better ones and ask them to return for a final class for the age group. Those not picked are dismissed and not placed. This will happen for 2,3, or 4 flights, then all those that were picked will return to the ring and compete for placing in that age group. There is also a supreme showmanship class for the winners of each age group. Do not be discouraged if you do not win an age group especially if it is your first year. Just to make a flight is a huge deal in showmanship at WI state fair. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Best of Luck!

typically for steer classes theres around 10 in a class for the xbreds. same goes for commercial heifers. other wise they split up the breeds in to at least to classes. the herefords and angus always have medium sized classes, close to that 10, the other breeds mostly have 6ish animals in a class except aob. for anything we rarely have more than 10-12, even showmanship as they split age groups into to 2-3 heats.

breed heifers are of course split by age so theres only a couple of breeds that there are over a couple of heifers in a class for.

If you have any questions, Brandon, the show superintendent, is a great guy and always very helpful. Best of luck at the show and I hope it is not too hot of a night spent sitting on the track for you!
