I was wondering what kind of cows WMW worked on and what type of front end the cow needs so he doesnt throw a cripple.  I have a Meyer 1468 out of a low maine Jackpot cow that i was wondering if he would work on. She is a bred heifer now and is due the end of Feb with a Nighty Night calf.  Let me know if you think this mating will work and also how hard does WMW calve?

i haven't really heard about who calves being overly big. i know there are the freaks every once in a while but i know people who bred every first calf heifer for several years to him and had hardly any trouble. the experience that i have had with who is not bad. i would say that he would probably clean up the cows neck but she had better be sound otherwise things might not work out well.

WMW worked the best on the cows that had a little extra set in their back legs.  I'm not talking about a really crooked leg but the kind of set that allows the cow to produce year after year.  I always made sure the cows weren't too straight fronted as well, which was never a problem because I always used Angus cows.  That really cut down on the cripple calves.

This is my who heifer out of an angus cow - the cow is good fronted and sound, maybe a little on the big side. Really a nice cow.  I hope to get an updated pic of this heifer on here soon

He's our bull of choice on all heifers with no Maine or Chi and we've never had to so much as assist one of them.

Below are 2 WMW heifers that just sold on our sale.  Their Dams were Meyer Grandaughters out of a 1/2 blood Direct son of 734.

Good luck,

RSC
