A.O.B. Bull Bracket Nomination Mulligan “Do over”

Ah yes, lethal genetic defects - lets continue to propagate and promote them in all breeds and crossbreds too - a round of applause for equal opportunity lethal genetic defects (clapping) Thats not what I said.  Grand Canyon has been used very heavily in the RA breed and just last year was...

    Red Angus Donor Cow

I agree with the majority of those cow lines.  I just want to mention one cow that I think is worth your time to at least check out.  If you are looking for ridiculously good-- then there is only one cow name that comes to mind........PAR SELMA MA 373  (830289)  or her mother PAR Selma K1220...

    RED ANGUS FANATICS HOWS.......... ?

I saw Huckleberry at Fort Worth, I liked him there.  Not a huge fan of his latest picture.  I'm personally a fan of 224 and have seen alot of good calves in the show ring and in the pasture.  He makes tremendous females and has thrown a couple pretty darn good bulls.

Why do you think really functional cattle can't also be the showring type cattle

I don't think there are many commercial cow-calf producers that pay much attention to the show ring.  Because they are looking for good, sound, practical cattle that will preform in many different environments.  They don't want to call a vet to preform a C-section on 1/2 there cows to pull out...

    The Red Angus Post

For those people playing the numbers game wouldn't you go with Six Mile Sakic.    Haven't seen this bull in person, but he seems to be catching quite a bit of buzz lately.  As for Mojito I think they are releasing semen in January of '08.  Alot of his calves will sell this fall and the ones I...

Why do you like your breed of cattle?

I hope we can continue to maintain this momentum and keep growing.  I am still on the fence as to wether the multi-breed epds will work and if RA will really rise to the top.  I think alot of people were really skeptical at first and the board tried to ram-rod the idea through without much...

    The Red Angus Post

Speaking of Big Brag Bulls...Just got the lastest RA magazine and wondered which of the big name bulls for 2007  you think are just hipe and which ones we will still be talking about in 2 years.  Because some of these bulls have won some big shows in the last couple of years and some have really...

    Generation VS Generation

Definatly couldn't work with them.  Tried that and always got the short end of the stick!  They say not to mix business with pleasure and I think the same thing goes for family.  May be diffent with father/son or that type of deal, I tried farming with my brother and Grandmother.  Brother...

    The Red Angus Post

Have seen a few Cub calves, but none that really tripped my trigger and haven't seen many Doc Holiday calves either.  I don't think he was used very heavily. Definatly a show bull.

She is a Perks Advance 234R daughter out of a 4L Rambo R621 granddaughter (if you are familiar with any red angus bloodlines)  She was 9 months old when that photo was taken.  She is a big stout, stylish heifer.  I call her Fatty McPhee!

Why do you like your breed of cattle?

Your defiantly right it is hard to change the mindset of some people.  When they see the black hided cattle bringing a premium at the sale barn its hard to convince them that red is the way to go.  I think since the association has implemented the Pro-Cow and feeder calf programs it has helped...
