I would say that we had the best experience with a Braunhvieh. They are probably the most docile breed I have found. We have angus, shorthorns, maines, chi but none like the Braunhvieh.

sugar will do the same as molasses, or kool aid works too...you can also put a pinch of snuff in the water.

I must agree that it may not be a breed thing. We have always raised black angus and they have always been docile. We have some limmy's that are just as docile but have a shorthorn heifer that is crazy as a betsybug.  I think alot of it goes back to the handling and raising. But sometimes you...

Not sure if anyone has suggested this to you but if they haven't you might try giving Thaimine to the calf in his feed. It has a calming effect. I am one that does not like to put my child in the showring with a "crazy" calf either. I know alot that will dose the calf with calf calm for the kids...

Tasco works really well. We feed straight Tasco. Would rather pay the price for the 50# bag than pay for a bucket of " hair stuff" that has some Tasco in it.
