Here out west, these troughs are popular. I'm a county agent and I just heard this morning that a local rancher is getting a truckload of them in. I don't personally use them, but have thought about it. Here is a website for a company that many people out here use. www.tirewelder.com Good luck!
I have a friend who would like to see pics and a price. He is located in Hereford and is interested in looking at this calf. Please email them to [email protected] or [email protected] or you can call him at (806) 220-8863.
For the most part, I know what I'll be using on some of my cows this summer, but am puzzled about some of the others. I could use some advice from you guys on bulls you've used. I'll give you as much info as possible on the cow and what she's done, and y'all can tell me what you might do...
I have a Carnac steer for sale who is a full sib to the 2nd place Heavy Charolais at San Antone if anyone's interested. He is priced at $2000. There's nothing wrong with him, except he may be a little kinky haired, and I don't have a big name. He'll be great for a slick show, though. His sibs...
The announced unofficial total was $729, 000.00 on 132 head with an avg. of $5609.00. The Lot 1, 2 year old "Duff Palermo" went for $35,000.00. His flushmates in lots 2 & 3 went for $11,000 and $9,000. Pretty impressive set as a whole, if you ask me. (clapping)
I have some calves rubbing off hair in patches on their tail head, shoulder, and rump. It's been pretty dry and windy here and they've all been treated for parasites, so I don't know what this could be. Anyone seeing similar problems and know how to treat this?
Newman's is a nice calf. We had 2nd in class behind him and 3rd overall Charolais with a smoky. It was a close call for Reserve but that's how it goes. Pretty glad two pretty good ones beat us. The calf pictured in my avatar is the calf we took.
I would personally use Rocky Balboa, but on the Heatwave heifers I would sure stay cold blooded and go with an Angus like Nothern Improvement or Copyright.
