Thanks for the input. I've been using the rice roto brush when the hair's wet. That's what we usually do. It confused me when people said do it dry? I figured that would cause the hair to break.
How do ya'll use Revive conditioner? Used it on hogs, but trying it out on the calves. Some swear by it! Wondering when it's most effective to put it in, how long to leave it in, etc.
I agree with everybody. Real stout, square hipped. Powerful on both ends, but needs some more depth and rib to carry that power throughout. Love to see her down the road, she should mature really nice. Plenty of bone as well. Nice.
No matter where they're kept (cooler, barn), the work required to grow hair is the same. Rinse, condition, brush till your arm feels like its gonna fall off and then some more.
What triggers her? Is it new people? Or sudden unfamiliar sounds? A dog? If it's consistently one type of thing that triggers her, you can work with that. I had a heifer earlier this past fall that was an angel the first couple months of being halter broke. Then she went through a phase...
I've got a steer that's gaining way faster than he's finishing. Worried that he isn't going to get done....and if he does, what his weight will be like. He's on Umbarger's Cattle Blaster. I've been supplementing Power Phat. Any suggestions on how to get him FAT as soon as possible? Thanks.
Nice pair of heifers! Really appreciate the added length and capacity of the second heifer. The first heifer really pulls it all together for me in a nice, balanced package. She's got a real show ring look to her.
