Thanks for the replies. I was planning on getting them trimmed but have heard a few breeders who won't trim before they are yearlings and was curious if anyone also did that and what the reason was for doing that.

I've never seen any DVD on AI buy have attended a class. I have to say it was really helpful to have someone there to double check the location of my gun and give pointers on how to be more successful. That's just how I learn but the DVD will be good for others. JMO

Yes, Broker can throw red calves. He is heterozygous black. I found that out when i had 3 out of 4 broker heifers come red out of my hetero donor cow.

Lowline or Mini Hereford, I had a half sim half lowline out of my show heifer in February. Calf was 60lbs and very vigorous. Plus the majority of the heifers cycle back much earlier. From now on I will breed all my heifers to mini breeds!
