I'm wanting to think that back when the clone deal was getting hot someone said that they c-section all the clones so as to not stress the calf. 

I think something everyone needs to realize is that the clubby deal by its nature is not predictable.  Breeding a PB Angus to say a PB char is somewhat predictable, or at least it should be.  When you start mating 16 way cross cattle to each other, that's another thing.  Start with stable female...

The feet are usually a good barometer as to what you got coming.  Great big feet usually mean a big calf that is built like a block.  That's usually when the decision is made.

In response to the onslaught of PM's I have gotten.  No it is not an Alias, no it is not a Walks Alone, actually there were no genetic defects (TH/PHA) involved in the creating of this calf.  Near as I can guess this is just one of those freak things.  I've never even heard of any structure...

Had this one the other day... Won't mention Sire or Dam info other than it was a pregnancy purchased out of a pretty big name sale.  Monster hip and bone.  Prolly gonna end up treating him with a shot of lead though.

Bought a bred heifer on a sale last winter.  She just had a RED I-80 calf.  I have yet to see a red one and was wondering if anyone else had any red ones or knew whether or not he is homozygous black?  Not bad a calf, just wondering if maybe the clean up bull got her?

Had an Amen X HW born a few nights ago.  It was one of those matings where we were shooting for a bull(about the only way to guarantee getting a heifer).  About 95lbs, induced a week early.  Hairy, stout, looks to be sound, and hairy. Looks lilke its gonna have some shoulder to her right now. ...

Animal Kingdom.  But it is hard to pick against Borel.  By far my favorite jockey.  Loved the fight he got in at the Breeders Cup last year.
