    Heatwave cows

Just a thought.  Do the heatwave granddaughters seem to exhibit the same characteristics (problems) as a heatwave daughter or as you get further away from him do they seem to improve.  I know one post mentioned a golden child cow that was a really good cow. I would guess the wmw in the breeding...

    Heatwave cows

I know a guy that flushed a nice heatwave cow to yellowjacket and had some dang good fall born steers as a result this year.  Haven't seen them, but heard they are real good. Believe they are yellow calves out of the solid black cow.  Hows yellowjacket bred anyway.

    Heatwave cows

I would agree finding a Heatwave cow that carries any good traits a person would like in a mother cow is comparable to the needle/haystack delima.  Have pulled little angus sired calves out of heatwaves that pull hard as heck. even cut a few out.  No room in the pelvis.  The fun thing is bottle...

lease cows or run cows on shares

Really?  I live in Mullen.  Had a buddy of mine just leased out 100 head of nice angus cows for $120/head a couple of weeks ago.

    running cattle

We figure $410 a head/year.  Includes pasture, hay, mineral, vaccine and breeding cost (natural).  Embryo, AI, and creep are not figure in this for me.  I'd probably sell all my cows if I stopped to figure out what that costs me.  Guess I prefer to do my gambling in the calving lot not the casino.

Heatwave x Dr. Who Steers For Sale

Am asking $1100 for the steer in the top picture, $900 for steer in the second picture, and $1500 for the two steers in the bottom two pictures.  Would make a deal on the two in the bottom pictures if somebody was to want them both ($2500). Or would be willing to sell all four for $4250.

Heatwave x Dr. Who Steers For Sale

These are the steers I had mentioned in my add last week.  I finally figured out how to get the pictures to fit on this site.  As I mentioned before, these steers are all full sibs our of a Dr. Who x Simmy cow I had bought off of Ward Eckloff while I was working for him.  I flushed the cow to...

    Heatwave Calves for Sale

I have seven heatwave calves for sale.  They are mid-march embryo calves out of a Dr. Who/Simmy donor cow.  The cow was bought from Ward Eckloff a few years ago when I worked for him and these calves were bred with the intention of putting them on his sale this fall.  I took a different job and...

Anybody here any results from the labor day sales. Sounded like Eckloff had a great set of calves and a really good black baldy heatwave.
