    CIDRs

Good. They were cleaned before they were stored.

    CIDRs

I'm going to sync a few cows for breediing starting next week.  I have a few "once-used" cidrs that have been stored in a rubbermaid tub.  Would you use these or buy all new ones?  I didn't know if not being sealed in their bag would hurt them.

    opinions on easy calving bulls

I've had 4 Connealy Confidence calves born this Spring.  One was 50 lbs (out of a Kesslers Frontman heifer), 2 were 60 lbs (out of Saugahatchee and Iron Mountain heifers), and the biggest was 72 lbs (Net Worth heifer).  They're born little but get up quick and are very vigorous.

    Concealed Carry - NC

I have a Ruger LCP and a Taurus TCP to carry.  I don't really enjoy shooting either one, but they're small enough I can take them anywhere (even on my motorcycle).  Much prefer to shoot my Glock 17 or Ruger Mark II for fun.

    AI For a new breeder??

Here is a good syncronization planner.  Lots of info for different synch protocols and will even figure total cost of synch & A.I. http://www.iowabeefcenter.org/estrus_synch.html

    BC Lookout

That heifer looks really nice (as does her dam).  I've had a few Lookout calves out of my Angus cows.  I had twin bulls and twin heifers and one other heifer sired by him last year.  I had a bull calf the fall before that I cut because he was too small.  He was out of a big cow, but Lookout...

    BC Lookout

I've seen several nice Lookouts out of Simmys.  I didn't know what their pedigrees were though.

Just looking for opinions on the best bloodlines to use him on.  What has clicked for you and what hasn't?

Thanks for posting this pic.  She was pretty green in the catalog photo.

    School me on Cameras

I just bought (last fall) a Canon T3i and couldn't be happier with it.  The photos I've taken in just the auto mode are so much better quality than what I took with my point & shoot.  The interchangeable lenses do offer alot more freedom than just a simple zoom.  I am signed up for a basic...

    Should I gamble?

My first calf born from using sexed heifer semen was a bull too!

    BC Marathon calves

I've got one heifer that we were trying to get ready for a sale.  I had to pull her from the sale.  She is perfectly normal acting out in the barn lot, but when we put he halter on her she's unpredictable.  She might stand and let you brush/comb/etc. with no issues or she might blow up and lunge...

    BC Marathon calves

Just wondering what anyone can tell me about Marathon's calves dispositions.

    BC Classic 385-7

My Classic calves are all very easy going and docile.  We halter broke the Shorthorn Plus with no problems.  If the gate to the barn is cracked, she's inside and into everything.  The angus bull and heifer are calm as well.

DAJS Shockwave vs BC Eagle Eye

I don't know much about Shockwave, but I really like my Eagle Eye calves. (thumbsup)

    Which angus bull

I have had 3 Connealy Confidence calves born this year.  All were 60 lbs or less and very vigorous at birth.

    Calf Color?

I have a shorthorn plus that was similar in color when she was born.  I have angus too, so she reminded me of a sunburned black angus calf.  I call her black, but she still has a reddish tint to her hair.

    Size of a calving pen????

We put up some last winter that are 12' x 24' that worked well for us.  I couldn't really tell you if yours are too small or not though.  Being in Tennessee, we calve outside unless we're having extremely cold temps or winter weather.  Extreme conditions don't usually last long here though.
