    Summit Females

Was wondering what people were using on their Summit cows, she is a Summit x IW, a tad stouter. Looking to go direction to get most marketable calf so open to anything.

    S&R Roundtable Angus Bull

Good stock comparable to Lutton, RT calves being a touch more powerful

    Line breeding

I guess I was just curious to see if it was worth the risk to try and develop some foundation females for breeding steers that were double bred 734 or Whiskey. She is Meyer granddaughter on paternal side and Whiskey granddaughter on the dam side.. would consider using a bull like Maternal Made...

    Line breeding

Just would like to gather opinions on line breeding on the maternal end of show cattle.. specifically I have a heifer sired by a 734/angus out of a Whiskey/angus dam.. would you suggest a Whiskey or 734 son or go back to the originals if one was looking to attempt to line breed in the selected...

    suggestions?

From my experience the Fu's tend to be more consistent but the HIA can be freakier. Fu carries a little more mass through that area. Both have fairly good extension, again HIA probably being freakier.  Structure wise I would have to say both are pretty good, both have sired state fair winners...

    suggestions?

I don't want to sound like a broken record here as they are probably the two hottest steer bulls out there right now but I would have to suggest Fu Man Chu or Here I Am. Both give calves an incredible side profile look and when combined with Whiskey they should be incredible side profiling...

    Replacement making Simmi bull

We only have about 15 cows to use on this spring so we'll likely just stick with one sire. Any other thoughts on Uno Mas? Was thinking of using him on a 734/angus x Whiskey chromed up heifer and a No Worries x TR Firewater heifer- will be breeding these 2 heifers for steers in the future and...

    Replacement making Simmi bull

Thanks for the reply Lucky P- like the looks of Allegiance and Longevity, I had thought of using Upgrade but the limited amount I have seen out of him have been pretty stout and not very feminine looking, which  I guess isn't the worst trait if you're about putting pounds on calves which we...

    Replacement making Simmi bull

Should of clarified a few more things in my original post,, Not interested in any reds as we market calves commercially so don't want that dock.  Not opposed to using sexed semen and then keeping the top 50-60% of heifers and feeding the rest out. Something I left out is we want a bull who can...

    Replacement making Simmi bull

Looking for suggestions of a Simmi bull to use on some commercial angus cows to make some feminine replacement commercial/recips cows. Doesn't have to be a purebred but take note we are not looking for show ring genetics here and we won't be registering these calves. Commercial angus we will be...

    Monopoly/No Worries females

Looking ahead to next breeding season. I have a cherry red Monopoly heifer out of a commercial Simmi cow by Dream On. She is bred now to Conneally Confidence Plus, an Angus bull for her first calf. She is flatter muscled and would like to stay maternal. Was thinking Drivin 80, Primo, or Maternal...

Who is the best bull to use on "Clubby Type Cows" to make Club Calves?

Can't believe no one has reccomended Comfort Zone or Benz. Maternal Made makes them freaky fronted if you want to spend the extra money. Primo and Style have that show ring look if your cows are high enough % breed to throw a registered calf out of a PB Angus bull.

    Broker daughters

I'm not a huge fan of most of any Lautner bulls but Blaze of Glory has been pretty sure fire calving ease for us. Calves are pretty stylish. I would say of the 10 we had out of commercial simmi/angus first calf heifers 5 had some Brockel markings and 5 were pure black, so I would have to imagine...

Who Da Lady 1y flush options

Here I Am, Fu Man Chu, Kung Fu but he is a rookie bull. For females the Styke x Who Da Mans are hot but I'd venture to say Primo will be the next hot Angus sure for commercial females and I would go with him. He's also available in sexed.

    Monopoly progeny carcass results?

I had a Monopoly x HooDoo steer.  He was 1340 show weight 1425 full at state fair time in mid August and when he went in Sept 1 he was 1350 after 2 weeks of pasture and a little corn silage/corn just to keep him happy.  I don't know what he graded or how he marbled but he had a pretty good...

Bull to use for flush Northern Improvement Angus Cow

Why not service your cow to Walks Alone if you need them stouter?

Bull to use for flush Northern Improvement Angus Cow

No Worries would make a great brockle face Maine/Angus cross female. For steers, MAB, Italian Stallion, or Texas Tornado should work.

    Bull ideas for 2 heifers

Guessing at least that MAB has color, No Worries is an I-80 son out of a Whiskey cow, from experience here (on clubby bred heifers like yours) we have not had issues calving wise. Calves have some vigor and are very very hairy at birth. Smart, friendly calves.. Haven't had a stupid one yet who...
