Not everything is about me.
Someone woke up hungry & without food,
I weigh too much.
There is a child crying for their parents,
I never like my mom & dad.
A young father lost his job,
my boss is a bore.
A wife is beaten by her husband,
my spouse doesn't appreciate me.
A child is bullied at school,
everyone picks on me.
A young woman is alone,
my friends are too needy.
Why do people complain?
I've got it so much worse!

A poem thread!!!  O.K., here's one I love...

When you get what you want in your struggle for self,
And the world makes you King for a day,
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that guy has to say.

For it isn't your Father, or Mother, or Wife,
Whos judgment upon you must pass.
The feller whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the guy staring back from the glass.

He's the feller to please, never mind all the rest,
For he's with you clear up to the end.
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and "chisel" a plum,
And think you're a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the guy in the glass.

IF DOGS WERE TEACHERS

IF DOGS WERE TEACHERS YOU WOULD LEARN STUFF LIKE:
WHEN LOVED ONES COME HOME, ALWAYS RUN TO GREET THEM.
NEVER PASS UP THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO FOR A JOYRIDE.
ALLOW THE EXPERIENCE OF FRESH AIR AND WIND IN YOUR FACE TO BE PURE ECSTASY.
WHEN IT'S IN YOUR BEST INTEREST, PRACTICE OBEDIENCE.
LET OTHERS KNOW WHEN THEY'VE INVADED YOUR TERRITORY.
TAKE NAPS.
STRETCH BEFORE RISING.
RUN , ROMP, AND PLAY DAILY.
THRIVE ON ATTENTION AND LET PEOPLE TOUCH YOU.
AVOID BITING WHEN A SIMPLE GROWL WILL DO.
ON WARM DAYS, STOP TO LIE ON YOUR BACK ON THE GRASS.
ON HOT DAYS, DRINK LOTS OF WATER AND LIE UNDER A SHADY TREE.
WHEN YOU'RE HAPPY, DANCE AROUND AND WAG YOUR ENTIRE BODY.
NO MATTER HOW OFTEN YOU'RE SCOLDED, DON'T BUY INTO THE GUILT THING
POUT.....RUN RIGHT BACK AND MAKE FRIENDS.
DELIGHT IN THE SIMPLE JOY OF A LONG WALK.
EAT WITH GUSTO AND ENTHUSIASM.  STOP WHEN YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH.
BE LOYAL. NEVER PRETEND TO BE SOMETHING YOU'RE NOT.
IF WHAT YOU WANT LIES BURIED, DIG UNTIL YOU FIND IT.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON OF ALL IS:
WHEN SOMEONE IS HAVING A BAD DAY,
BE SILENT, SIT CLOSE BY AND NUZZLE THEM GENTLY.
