The guys are sure thinking about it but the weather never cooperates, its hard to drag 5 or so to these shows, depends on the weather and clipping, they are
trying to get ready for Souix Falls too so might just grow more hair. Do you know any of the particulars, like weigh in and judges???

We went Saturday and had a good time. I really liked how the judges took their time and evaluated every animal.

Also we are looking at putting together a grooming team for the OCA BEST Grooming Competition. As of right now we have the Jr.& Beginner age requirements met, we also have one senior willing to do it so I guess we are down to trying to find another Senior or Intermediate showman to complete our roster. If you or you know of someone interested in participating let me know.

Ugh..another time that I wish I lived in Ohio. I love all the shows that you guys have, and I also love fitting contests.  Do most of you Ohio-ans like the BEST shows?

We didn't go but I heard from MLK32 that the judges really took their time. Seems that they said something to each kid in showmanship. I imagine from her call it was really late when they fiished up. They placed last because he didn't like how she tracked. I'd agree w/ him there. About 540 head total for Saturday.

Shorty89- it's a great program. Really gives the kids a chance to go out the & compete. Lots of rules to keep cheating down. No paint, no air, no false hair or building. I think it's a great program. Plus the kids have to take a class on ethetics, proper management of cattle & on giving drugs. It's a good chance for them to learn how to do it right & legal.
The fitting contest is new & I think that's where the true workers shine. You can tell who actually fits their own cattle or just let's the parents or fitters do it.
Big thumbs up!!! (clapping) (clapping) (clapping)

Shortyjock89-
I like certain aspects of the program, especially the points Red hit on.

A big down side is the cost, it would be nice to lessen that burden somehow.

RED:
We had a good day
*3rd overall in showmanship
*3rd in class
*4th in class “with a home raised calf”
*6th in class “first time calf was showed and gained a lot of confidence in calf & showman”
