Hey everyone. Happy New Year. We are still working on getting my daughters' Simmental heifer bred. After our county fair in Oct. we did get her to be checked out by a "reproductive specialist". They discovered that she had a cyst on each ovary. (No wonder 80 days with a bull failed). Neither cyst was hard, and they were supposedly eliminated using the shot (something cyst). They then used a cidr and AI'd her. She cycled a couple of days before what would have been a 2ND cycle on Dec. 20Th. Not a Merry Christmas present for us! It is being proposed that she go back to the specialist this week to be checked out again (make sure she is clean of cysts) and try the AI again. Are we crazy!!!??? Heifer is 2 on Jan. 10Th if that makes a difference. On a better note it looks like our southdown ewes are expanding nicely and we should have a nice lambing later this spring! Thanks for any advice.
