Bulls and the shape of pelvics

We had a heifer last year that we pelvic measured. One really nice heifer........the vet said kind of a key holed shaped pelvic opening. It wasn't bad sized though. We have a full sib weaning calf.....bull. Will this bull sire daughters that have the same trait? Would it be worth checking the calf for shape and size of his pelvis? Is there any research out there about something like that? I wonder if there are any high dollar females out there with bad pelvic measures that never have calved on their own. Wasn't it the Cherokee Canyon bull in the Red Angus breed that sired daughters with pelvic problems?

With over 1 billion possible recombinations from that sire and dam mating, there's no way to tell if the bulls sister's pelvis is any indication of his own.  I think it would certainly be reasonable to have the bull himself checked

Well, if I can check, always try to look the dam and sisters of refered bull. To me is an indication. Also, if it show a wide back and large ilium and isquios is also a way to try look for right ones.

I guess they just used the little bastard as Champ shorthorn plus bull at the Kansas State Fair. He was also a twin.

Not to get off the subject but the scariest pelvic problems of any Shorthorn bull came from MB Steermaker-lotta calves came out the side of his daughters. He also sired some good ones-but thats not a good trait to have in the background O0
