This is an april Chiiler-ub junior walker cow just before weaning-think hes got potential?  I think hed stand  ok at some expos, and having been involved with a number of national show deals with Lawrence Grathwohl-I think hell show ok, we would like to get him hooked up with someone who goes to a fair or two. Or get him up north-hopefully hed be big enough yet fill aclubby gap, Horseshoe Creek had a Vision that I thought was a stone great one-but I never really saw anything out of him.

Looks like a pretty good rip,

I would be currious what his BW was though? His phenotype doesn't exactly scream calving ease to me but I'm sure he could have a place for use on mature cows etc. The horns will deter some people (not myself, I have no problem using horned bulls if they are good enough)

He looks really long sided and stout made, an attractive hind leg and piles of bone, lots of heard and depth through his chest floor.

From that angle looks like he could have a bit of shoulder in him?

Heck of a bull calf in any case.

What else can you tll us about him?

Great looking calf. Seems to be well balanced with plenty of bone. You'll have to keep us posted please with his progress. Do you know his TH & PHA status yet?

Looks like a pretty good rip, THANX-he wasnt over 85pounds-he was pictured here in late april as a baby -his mother is a very moderate  ubjrwalker who goes back to deertrail t-bone and stacks of low bw Kansas range cattle- she showed well-had 2 hiefers- bring over $3000 each, never had a big calf.In person-he really is correct-and thicker than the picture shows-shoulder is not that extreme-I havent had a bull used in Canada since ub mad max-I think hed sire some nice females.

I think he is a very complete calf.

Promotable? Anything is protoable if you or someone has enough money!! (Just look at the semen catalogs!!) I honestly don't know if he will be the next coffee shop talk, BUT, I do think he has potential and is worth promoting on a trial bases to see if a bigger investment will pay off.

He looks too straight in his shoulder

i saw that too but i think i am going to give him the benefit of the doubt. it looks like he is standing downhill a little and i think there is a white calf behind him and the black one that makes his withers look farther forward than they actually are. i think the combination of these and the fact that it's just a picture makes him look like that.

well maybe there isn't a calf in the background just lots of hair. a good clip job might help it.

Original post and some replies on 27th--today is 28th.  What does the wind have to do with anything?  Either you think he is good or you don't.  If you aren't sure, cut him and sell him as a steer.  Might not make as much as if he became the next great sire, but the chance of losing a lot of money is much less.

He looks too much like a bull to me, we'll just have to get him out .He doesnt have to be the next great one to be useful-you got anything that would look like a bull?

You asked opinions and i gave you mine. He is too straight for me.. He looks  straight fronted, post-legged in the rear, and as he gains weight, he looks like he will be over in his knee.. You will not find a perfect one.. but structure problems are a BIG problem. A bull out of the wind and clipped is still the same bull.

I can only rely on Dave Mcfarland  who took the picture, and Mark Mueller who basically raised the calf- and they say the strongest part of him is how fluid he is-go figure-well see. Gotta figure a little shoulder when they are stout and horned, but he doesnt roll into it like the picture might suggest,
