I know there was a band that played out at the National finals all the time. They were pretty much for adult audiences only. They were always fun and popular but I can't think of their name.

Willie is like 70 some and he has done enough drugs and what ever to kill the 82nd and 101st airbourne division ...yet he is still alive. I went to a bar concert in like the late 70's around Hays Kansas. Jerry jeff was playing there. I was in college(freshman 17 years old and I went to it. Half of the bar were cowboys and the other half were roughnecks(oil patch) and a few bikers. I was sitting in the middle of this thing scared to death and waiting for all hell to break loose. Well xxxxxxxxx in the wind song came on and there were roughnecks and cowboys slapping each other on the back and buying each other beers and singing and what ever. The roughnecks loved jerry jeff and they are a salty bunch of boys. It just seems like jerry jeffs music didn't fit into any category except he told stories. Pop music is great but there is so much good stuff out there that doesn't make the top 40. I know I should shut up. ;D

I'm not familiar with the names on this list but one rings a bell. Isn't there some more popular type song that gives some type of credit to Robert Earl Keene in the lyrics?
