Anyone seen any calves out of him? Whats he clickin with?

We have a yearling Hard Whiskey Bull that we really like.  We will turn him out as a cleanup bull  soon.

We have 2 et calves this yr out of him and our Meyer donor cow. We really like the calves big hipped, big boned and pretty fronted. He cleaned up our cows neck quite a bit.I'm skeptical on how fertile his daughters will be since he didn't freeze semen right away. Anyway as to what he clicks on or how we will breed him this yr is to really really sappy bellied cows. I think he'll work on a bunch of different cows but the cow has to be sappy.

When you say sappy is that similar to soggy or sowy?

I am really impressed with the photo that GTWY Integrity took.  He is a Hard Whiskey son out of the great Harietta cow.  I don't seem to see any information other than from GTWY and Executive Sires on this bull.  Has anyone seen him in person?  He looks to be a really promising percentage maine bull.  I know some of the excitement over Hard Whiskey may have fizzled because of fertility concerns, but the age(still producing) and amount of elite offspring produced by Harietta would ease that worry for me.  I am surprised that there hasn't been any buzz on this bull..........

Were showing a hard whiskey hfr this yr bred her the first of this month and passed over will have her ultra sounded in a couple weeks. But has far as what he's clicking with seems to be the maternal bred angus, simmy, Maine. Don't know if many people have tried on the clubby with limited semen out before

My thinking on Hard Whiskey was that he was "different" than most other Maine Anjou bulls in that he was deeper bodied and more maternal.  A sire we could use on crossbred cows and maybe even shallower middled cows or cows that needed some depth of body to make replacement females.

In the above posts, breeders indicate needing to breed him to deeper sided cows and mostly Angus bred cows?

Can some other breeders give reports of type, on offspring that they have gotten out of different types of cows, please?

This is just my opinion. Hard Whiskey is a very stylish and well put together Maine bull but not one of those well sprung and deep bulls you might invision. He has that good hair and was dressed up nicely when displayed at Denver. I personally think he would work best to pretty-up those deep, soggy and moderate type cows that are too plain through the neck and head. Hypothetically, softer type Angus or Sim-Angus cows would be my choice with this bull.

so using the straws I have on these angus cows might be a positive step in the right direction?
