We have a stock trailer and take out the horse dividers except for the forward most one in the trailer. We had a thick rubber (mat) attached to the bottom metal part of the horse divider.  We place our grooming chute, etc.  in the front horse compartment.  Our box fits in the dressing room of the trailer along w/ luggage, etc.

Are you guys saying you leave your chutes set up in your trailer? We take ours apart and then load it and the side panels in the front of the trailer as far up as we can get it and then angle it across. This becomes a slanted barrier between hay, feed, tack and the cattle. We have thought about mounting the chute on the outside but then how would we separate tack from cattle? We have a 20' gooseneck and not all fits in the nose. We usually need 1/3 of the trailer for tack and the chute.

Depending on number of head we either haul it like you do or put calves in front and leave the chutte set up on the back then fill the chute up with other tack showbox, generator and fans usually
