I feel like I've worn out this line, but we keep getting new inhabitants on this Planet, so here goes.............Cattle are Dumb, Stupid creatures of habit! Every time you change something from their regualr routine, it affects them, usually in a negative way. The best solution to travel is simply more travel. As it becomes routine to jump in the trailer, bounce around for a couple of hours, and get out in strange surroundings, your calves will get adapted. For the short term, try to make everything as close as possible to home. Use the same ropes and halters.(always have calves tied when feeding) Going to a show so often changes feeding times. Don't allow that to happen! Always feed at the same time of day. Feed in the same bucket as at home. Take water from home, and water in the same bucket. If you work hair in a pen, don't stick your calf into a chute at the show. What has been said about mineral is correct. Regardless of brand, make sure your calves ingest the recommended amount daily.
