Did a search on him but did not find anything that was very recent. Have any of you had calves out of first calf heifers by him? Would you consider him safe for clubby heifers?

I run cows with one of the owners and i will be real honest. We have had a few bigger ones this year already. they may be a bit big for some peoples tastes on first calf heifers. He will make them good though, I have a trifecta heifer in the show pen. may want to breed him to something with a little more bone. he wont take away bone but he wont add any either. hope this helps

We will continue to use him on heifers though. the bigger calves were out of bigger framed heifers. its really neat, i saw him on friday morning again and almost everytime you see him on the profile he strikes the same pose that he is in, in his picture! really cool made bull!

I don't think it matters Simgal , that Trifecta bull looks way good ! Nothing wrong with a dose of great Angus genetics in him ! He's still a very attractive baldy bull !

You're right, ALTSIMMY79 ! In the long run, it doesn't.  ;D
I'm just trying to keep my calves purebred for the time being. Better demand for PB in my area, and we have mostly angus cows in our commercial herd. Then the calves are 1/2 to 3/4 Simmental if I use my homebrew bulls. In a few years, I'll come back in with Angus, but for now PB Simmi's are walking the pastures here  ;D

Sounds like you have good plan. I'm thinkin Trifecta on a couple solid black framey Perfector daughters. Put some moderation and meat in the taller girls !

Saw a few Trifecta calves this weekend. They were actually my favorites out of the breeder's calves so far. They were out of 1st calvers. Had to pull all of them (I think he had 3 or 4). They were a little bigger than he would have liked them to be, but out of clubby made heifers.  He definitely put some color on them. Very appealing to the eye! They were moderate boned, decent hair, and sound. I might try him on some of my more mature cows. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on them as they grow...they'd look real nice as replacements in my herd! :)

that's odd-- in our area-- purely the opposite...  My neighbor- just bought some more cows- now over 600-- can't sell a purebred Sim for anything.. and bred everything for half bloods this year, unless they were the few purebred cows-- of which got bred to half blood bulls for 3/4's.  I don't think he has but about 10% purebred Angus cows- most are F1's getting bred back to F1 bulls.

FYI: he just bought a new, baby brother of the 2 year old OPTIMUS PRIME full brother.

The majority of the cattle in my area are a high percent angus, and the half and 3/4  heifers are bringing pretty good prices at area sales. Many people want a Simmi bull to mate to their angus to get the desireable cross. Plus, there are way fewer Simmental breeders in my area than angus.

You are just surrounded by legends! OP's brother, Rendition and Trademark!  ;D You're next!

TWO NOW>> you want pictures?  The newest arrival hasn't made it home yet- as of the other night when we were over visiting.  He keeps offering me a weekend job- but I just don't have time to work=--= although I would in a heartbeat.

YES. Do you need my e-mail?

So he has two siblings? Must really like the genetic package..or the actual package..or both. Sounds like an interesting situation!

I know the 2 yo is a full sib to OP, he was lot 1 or 2 in the Jones Sale a year ago, or maybe 2. He was never registered though- neighbor doesn't believe in that.

The other day, neighbor said he bought another bull- full sib to the last one; but when I looked in their catalog from this year I couldn't find him.. But I wonder if it wasn't the chromed up one in there, the OP son...

I imagine there are tons of full brothers to OP floating around.

There are just two registered with ASA at this time, Optimus Prime and AJE/PB MONTECITO 63W , which RST is promoting (they are on Steer Planet).  Here is a pic of Motecito... versus the pic below of Optimus Prime...

Ya, but the bull in the pasture next to my house is a full brother, and he's not registered with the ASA.  His tattoo is 11x I remember.  Check him out in the sale catalog.  Paid $5000 for him in their sale.
